Cover Survey

New or existing concrete structures have to be examined and tested to ensure that concrete remains of adequate strength and durability. One of the most important parameter that ensures durability by protecting the concrete from the surrounding environment is the cover of concrete over the reinforcing bars. The cover meter survey will give all locations where the reinforcement is close to the surface within a concrete structure. Information such as: reinforcement spacing, diameter, depth from surface and location can be determined. 

The test involves scanning the surface with an electromagnetic meter - PROFOSCOPE that can survey large areas and quickly determine the locations that have less than the minimum specified cover.
